Daniel‘s parents were George Edward Allen (1766-1850) and Anne Jones (1757-1792), his mother died when he was just eight, and there are no records of any siblings.

Daniel married Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Barten [or Barton] (1781- after 1851), from Corsham, Wiltshire, on 22 Dec 1804 at All Saints, Weston, Bath.
They had five children. and we have identified twenty-one grandchildren.

Daniel Allen was living at Casey’s Cottage, Middle Lane in Lyncombe and Widcombe Bath.

His wife and two sons lived with him. He is shown as 60 though we believe he was only 57, his wife Elizabeth (‘Betty’) is shown as 50, when we believe she was 60. , Daniel is described as a quarryman, Betty as a laundress, Henry (20) and Joseph (15) are both identified as labourers.

They have moved to 3 Ferry Buildings, also in Lyncombe and Widcombe, Bath.

This time Daniel and Betty are both shown as 70 years old! They are shown as a former labourer and fa ormer laundress. Henry (31) and Joseph (24) are presumably unmarried and living at home, both still described as labourers.

Daniel died in 1864 at Bedminster, Bristol.
