Quick Links:

Continuing ahead from Upper High Street, you will find Cornmarket. Thame High Street was originally laid out to be wid enough to accommodate its weekly market. Then a building was created at its centre to control that market – this was the Moot Hall or Market Hall. This prompted other buildings there to create what became the, an approximate 100-yard long, Middle Row. This of necessity formed two roads that create a break in the High Street, these are Cornmarket and Buttermarket.
